Easter is an extremely important time for Christians and we wanted to ensure that our children understood the key events of the journey through lent to Easter Sunday. With volunteers from St Mary’s church, the children took part in an ‘Experience Easter’ workshop.
The five stations that the children visited were:
1. Palm Sunday – ‘Hopes and Dreams’
2. Jesus washes the disciples feet – ‘Servant King’
3. The Last Supper – ‘Remember Me’
4. The Garden of Gethsemane – ‘Alone’
5. The empty tomb – ‘Resurrection’
It allowed the children to reflect on the importance of the events of lent and the spiritual serenity was clearly felt around the church.
A huge thank you to the volunteers who so generously gave up their own time to man the stations and take the time to explain and answer questions according to the children’s age and level of understanding.
