We were delighted to welcome Nick from STEAMCo back to St Mary’s today as he came to collect the wonderful miniature railway box that we designed especially for him.
When Nick first visited us in the summer term, he sparked so much curiosity with his passion for engineering and creativity. His enthusiasm inspired our children to think like engineers, ask questions, and imagine possibilities.
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the railway, today we built our very own train tracks together. The classroom was buzzing with excitement as ideas came to life in track designs, storytelling, and play.
As part of the morning, the children and Mrs Neesham (who lovingly created the beautiful textile miniature railway box) were interviewed. Everyone spoke brilliantly and confidently – some of our children may well be destined for careers in television one day!
It truly was a fabulous, fun-filled morning, packed with creativity, teamwork, and joy. We can’t wait to see the video that Nick has made to capture the day – what a special memory for us all!
