This week in finance we looked at budgets. Having a budget helps you get a clear idea of how much money you have every month, and how much you can afford to spend while still saving for emergencies and financial goals. Understanding where you are spending money can also give you clarity on how to divide it amongst your needs and wants.

We budgeted ingredients for a pizza recipe. We were given the budget of £40. The children had to create 4 different pizza with different toppings and keep the money under £40. We added totals and worked out how much change we would have. We then finished off our lesson by talking about change that we would receive from the budget that we were given. We discussed the importance of checking the amount of change you get back is and making sure it is correct. We used NatWest money sense online to support our learning.
