This week in Design and Technology, we focused on the exciting task of adapting a recipe to create our own delicious cookies. The project began with budgeting out the ingredients, ensuring we made economical and practical choices to keep our recipe both affordable and creative. Following this, we explored the world of branding by designing our own packaging, thinking carefully about how to make it appealing and functional. This allowed us to combine both our design and practical skills, setting the stage for the most exciting part: the bake along.
For the bake along, we followed a video of Miss Jones demonstrating how to bake the cookies step by step. In our groups, each member was assigned a specific role, such as measuring ingredients, mixing, or decorating, and we worked together to mirror Miss Jones’ instructions. It was a fun and engaging experience, where teamwork and communication were key to success. Once our cookies were baked, we carefully packaged them in our custom-designed wrapping, ready to take home as gifts for our families. This activity not only taught us practical baking and design skills but also allowed us to share our creations with loved ones.
