Another great week full of exciting learning 🙂
In English, we have begun writing about a journey from Shawbury to Birmingham (on foot or bike). We have chosen powerful vocabulary to describe the different checkpoints we would reach on our journey and used this vocabulary to write the first paragraph(s) of our journey. We are looking forward to continuing our writing until we reach our destination.
We are continuing to read the Fastest boy in the world, this week we have been shocked by what we have discovered in the story. The children will be keen to talk about what surprised them and what we now know about Solomon’s grandfather, the ‘arrow’ !
In computing, we have been learning about stop-frame animation. We have learnt what ‘frames’ are and how simple frames can be put together to create a short animation. Some of us have used the app ‘imotion’ to create our own simple animation videos using stop frames. It was great fun seeing our still images come to life. Have a look at a couple of animations that the children created.

Over the last few weeks, Mrs Cartwright, Miss Wade and the choir children have been working so hard to learn and practice a set of songs that they went to perform at St. Chad’s church in Shrewsbury on Tuesday evening. What a wonderful opportunity for the children to have performed in such a beautiful church. Thank you to Mrs Cartwright, Miss Wade, the choir children and their parents and carers for supporting the children and helping the performance go ahead. Well done all ! – pictures to follow when we receive them 🙂

We would like the children to continue reading regularly at home, practice their spellings (these are in their log books) and practice regularly on times tables rockstars. We are reminding the children to read 3 or more times a week to / with an adult so that they can earn a tick on our reading rocket charts.
Thank you for the continued support.
Miss Taylor, Miss Hodson, Miss Wade and Mrs Cartwright.
