Snowdrops trip to Cannock Chase

We had an amazing time at Cannock Chase last week. In the morning we got to hear Christmas stories from the elves, write our letters to Santa, write our Christmas wishes, play with old fashioned toys, help make robins Christmas lunch and play some parlour games. After lunch we had to go and hunt down Mrs Claus’ missing cake ingredients and then helped her make her cake. We then got to go and sing some songs and make some special toys in the elves work shop and make some reindeer food!
We had such an amazing day!

It is outside Ladybird and Squirrel classroom.

Please write the name and class on each card you are sending.

Cards will be given out each day by the children from ladybird class.

Recycle your christmas jumper stall

This year at the Christmas fayre we will be holding a recycle your Christmas jumper stall. If you have any unwanted or outgrown Christmas jumpers to donate to our stall please bring them to Ladybird class or to the main office anytime before Friday. They will be on sale at the fayre for £2 each.

Please note: Christmas jumpers must be in good, clean condition.

Flu Immunisation

The children in year reception through to year 6 will be receiving their flu nasal spray on Wednesday 27th November, if you have returned your consent form.

Please return your form to school, even if you do not wish your child to receive the spray. All forms must be returned by Wednesday 20th November.

Spooky Disco Arrangements

The ‘Spooky’ discos are on Thursday this week.

Nursery, Reception and KS1 children will be taken into the disco at 1.45pm, if they have a ticket. All other children will remain in class. Children will then go back to class at 2.45pm and be collected from the classroom as normal at the end of the day.

KS2 children will go into the disco at 3pm, if they have a ticket. All other children will remain in class and will then be taken onto the playground at hometime as usual. At the end of the disco (4pm) the main door in reception will be opened and you can collect your child from the school hall. Please enter the hall through the door opposite the nursery and leave the hall through the door opposite the Stars room.

Virtual School Games

We are very excited today to be able to tell you that the Summer Primary School Sports Festival will now go ahead, re-badged as the #VirtualSTWSchoolGames

Attached you will find a PDF with all the information on what is happening and how you can get involved. But here are the headlines…

#VirtualSTWSchoolGames is a competition for any primary school age children across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin
It is being launched today (12th May) with a press release, emails to all primary schools in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and updates on the @EnergizeSTW Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts
Then in the six weeks from week beginning 18th May to 22nd June, six sport-specific personal best challenges will be released, one each week
We are looking for children to enter by sending videos and photos of them undertaking the challenges (all with parental / carer consent) whether they are at home or at school
Along with the sport-specific personal best challenges we are also looking for talented acts for our virtual opening ceremony and are inviting children to send videos of them performing their talents.
The week beginning 29th June will be Shropshire Homes Virtual School Games Celebration Week and we will kick it off with the ‘virtual’ warm up and opening School Games has Got Talent acts
We will review all entries that week and announce winners for each challenge on Friday 3rd July

We hope you will get involved – this is a great opportunity for children across the County to get active, have fun and get recognition with participation certificates, and winners’ medals, wrist bands and t-shirts.
