As well as this, this week’s spelling focus (unit 8) is – adding the suffix -ing
Rule to remember
If a word ends in a short vowel sound (a, e , i, o, u) and a consonant, we double the consonant before adding -ing.
This includes words such as: putting, nodding, drumming, tripping, clapping.
Please take the time to practise these spellings with your child at home throughout the week. You can practise the words ending in -ing as well as the 6 high frequency words.
