Class 10 have been superstars enduring the hot weather this week and we are really proud of their resilience!
In Reading, children have finished reading Pig Heart Boy by Malorie Blackman and have started their new book entitled Floodlands by Marcus Sedgwick. We are only 2 chapters in and are on the edges of our seats already!
Everyone has been very busy in Writing this week, writing a story from the perspective of a refugee. The standard of writing the children have produced is exceptional and it has been a pleasure listening to their stories.
In Maths, children have selected a holiday destination they would like to visit and are applying their mathematic skills to calculate a range of factors such as petrol costs, airport parking and hotel meals.
End of year events:
The prom will take place on Thursday 13th July at 5.30pm and invites went out today.
Next week, we will begin our rehearsals for the leaver’s assembly that takes place on Tuesday 18th July. The children cannot wait to get started!
Class 10 will be starting a community project soon where they will be renovating the garden area outside class 9 and class10. The area is looking shabby and Year 6 pupils have the exciting challenge of bringing it back to life. Once complete, we are going to invite the local elderly community in on Friday 14th July to have tea and cake in the new garden area.
During the last week, we will be arranging an end of year water fight – more details to follow.
Sports Days:
On Monday19th June, please can children come to school in their PE kit as we will be having a sports day practice. The main event will take place on Tuesday 20th June in which parents/carers/relatives will be invited to come along to spectate.
