I’ve just found some more useful links and a free login to PhonicsPlay which is great for phonics activities! I have also included a potential home timetable as I know some children (and parents!) can get a bit unsettled without some structure!!
This website is providing free access to all of it’s e-books over the school closures.
Dear Parents/ guardians/carers,
Please find attached the order in which phonics is taught in our school and the letters and sounds official book as a PDF. The PDF gives all of the rules for the sounds and different ideas for games.
Most of our class have finished phase 3 now, ready to move onto phase 4, where no new sounds are learnt, but new tricky words and consolidation of phase 3.
Please practise all sounds from phase 2 and 3 to help make sure there is as little interruption to your child’s learning as possible. The jolly phonic videos on YouTube are really useful.
Twinkl has some great resources to help support the teaching of phonics. You can access Twinkl for free over the school closures.
I hope this helps!
hope you are all okay with all this uncertainty, but I found these online and thought they may be helpful for those days stuck at home!
Snowdrops class look brilliant in their wonderful costumes.
As you are aware Miss White has been off ill for the last couple of weeks and we have had confirmation today that she will unfortunately be off until at least Friday 13th March.
To cover Miss White’s absence we have ensured that Mrs Ali and Miss Roberts are with the class and this will continue until 13th March, to ensure continuity for the children and their learning. As soon as we hear more about Miss White’s return to work date we will of course let you know.
We are planning parent’s evenings for Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th March and hope Miss White will be back for these.
We had an amazing time at Cannock Chase last week. In the morning we got to hear Christmas stories from the elves, write our letters to Santa, write our Christmas wishes, play with old fashioned toys, help make robins Christmas lunch and play some parlour games. After lunch we had to go and hunt down Mrs Claus’ missing cake ingredients and then helped her make her cake. We then got to go and sing some songs and make some special toys in the elves work shop and make some reindeer food!
We had such an amazing day!
St Mary’s Christmas Post Box is now OPEN!
It is outside Ladybird and Squirrel classroom.
Please write the name and class on each card you are sending.
Cards will be given out each day by the children from ladybird class.
This year at the Christmas fayre we will be holding a recycle your Christmas jumper stall. If you have any unwanted or outgrown Christmas jumpers to donate to our stall please bring them to Ladybird class or to the main office anytime before Friday. They will be on sale at the fayre for £2 each.
Please note: Christmas jumpers must be in good, clean condition.
Thank you in advance
