Daily timetable example

Please see below an example of a daily timetable that we would follow at school during normal times. Please use it to help with your homeschooling if you find it useful.

8:40-9:00 Early Morning work. This could include quick fire maths questions written down e.g. 20 age related sums. An English example would be to share a picture and ask the children to write words or sentences that describe the picture. Or they could ask questions about the picture that they would like to find out more about.

9:00-10:00 Maths. Maths activities.

10:00-10:15 Assembly. Looking at current topics or special occasions that may be occurring e.g. St Patrick’s Day, Red Nose Day or Chinese New Year.

10:15-10:30 Break. Outside activity and snack time.

10:30-11:00 Phonics or Guided Reading. Phonics for reception and Year 1 pupils, spelling for Year 2 pupils and Guided Reading for Years 3, 4, 5 & 6. Guided Reading activities could including comprehension questions about a text, reading their own book or reading a different text.

11:00-12:00 English. Writing activities.

12:00-1:00 Lunch. Outside activity and lunch.

1:00-2:00 & 2:00-3:00 Foundation subjects. Art, Science, PE, History, Geography, RE, Music, PSHE, Computing and French. Science and PE need to be taught for 2 hours per week the other subjects 45mins to an hour per week. French is only taught in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.

3:00-3:10 Whole class reading. Children listen to book read by class teacher.

Children will also do Forest School throughout the year, a nature walk would be a good idea but remember social distancing.
