Day of Welcome – Year 5/6 Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in the Day of Welcome, exploring the experiences of refugees and thinking about how we can make our school a warm and welcoming place for everyone. This year’s theme of Courage encouraged children to reflect on the bravery shown by people starting new lives in unfamiliar places. Pupils shared ideas about kindness, inclusion and respect, and how small actions can make a big difference. To celebrate, the children created unique “courage trophies” using tin foil, recognising the strength shown by others and themselves in facing challenges with confidence and compassion.
