This week, in First Aid we were very lucky to have a special visitor. Nurse Turnbull assisted our enrichment session on basic life support. We started by recapping the primary survey that we should complete if we come across a casualty. Nurse Turnbull and I were impressed with how much they had remembered from the previous week!
Next, we learnt about the recovery position and when it should be used, before practising putting our peers into the recovery position in a safe way. Nurse Turnbull also taught us CPR and we were fortunate enough to have resusci anne’s to practise on!
The whole group were so attentive. Nurse Turnbull answered some questions at the end of the session, and she remarked at how well behaved and respectful they were.
