Today in Singing for Enrichment Fridays it was Pop week! We looked at the origins of pop music and that it came from the word ‘popular’, as it is music that the masses enjoy. Before we began to sing, we looked at how music has changed overtime. We found out about music from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 90’s, before delving into music from 2000 onwards. The children were fascinated to see how clothing and the style of music changed in each decade and not all pop music is the same. Here are some of the songs we sang:
