Enrichment Fridays – Watercolour Sunsets As part of our Art Enrichment program, students recently explored the beauty of watercolour painting by creating stunning sunset landscapes. Using warm tones to blend vibrant skies, they learned techniques such as wet-on-wet and colour gradation to bring their skies to life. This project focused on how colour and composition work together to evoke mood and setting in visual art. To complete their scenes, students added bold silhouettes of African animals, including giraffes, elephants, and lions. These striking black shapes stood out dramatically against the glowing backgrounds, teaching the importance of contrast and form. The final artworks were not only visually impressive but also sparked curiosity and appreciation for African wildlife and culture. The students showed great creativity and skill in producing these powerful sunset scenes.
