This week Class 8,9 and 10 started their new Geography unit of work called Settlement and Migration. They used OS maps to identify different types of settlements. The settlements they identified were hamlets, villages, towns, cities, market towns and ports. To be able to identify them they had to understand the differences between each settlement.
After identifying different settlements, they explored how the land was being used in each settlement. They identified residential use, industrial use, commercial use, recreational use and transportation.
