Phonics: We learned the new way of spelling the ‘ow’ sound yesterday and learnt that we can also spell it ‘oa’. Have a look at the activities below, you can choose which one you want to complete to practise reading the ‘oa’ sound or complete all of them if you wish!
Literacy: LO: As a reader, I will become familiar with the story ‘Fancy Dress Jungle’ by Nick Sharratt.
We have got a new, exciting story to read in Literacy called ‘Fancy Dress Jungle’ by Nick Sharratt. Here is a link to an online reading of the story:
Read/Listen to the story and join in when you start to recognise the pattern.
Activity: Today in class we will be reading and acting out the story with partners. Have a go at remembering the story and act it out to someone at home (maybe you could ask a sibling or parent so act it out with you). This is so we become familiar with the story before we complete more activities the next 2 weeks.
Maths: Year 1: Compare lengths & heights
Year 2: Block diagrams
Art: Look at different animals and the patterns of their skin/fur. Can you sketch a variety of camouflage patterns?
