Wow, another week has flown by already! I have had lots of messages and pictures of what you have been doing at home. I have particularly enjoyed hearing about the different skills that your parents/carers have been teaching you – some of you have been learning to tie shoelaces, learning different languages and learning how to cook. I can’t wait to see all of the things you have learnt/created when you come back to school.
I would like the children to continue accessing the Maths and Literacy activities on Education city. They could also complete any of the activities from the Mayan grid.
Please continue to practice the times tables songs – perhaps this week focus on the 6s and 7s as we seem to get a little stuck with these ones.
Here is booklet 12 for those wanting to continue with the daily times tables challenge. Booklet 12
If the children would like an extra activity they could complete a book review of a book they have read recently or of their favourite book. I have attached two template options that can be printed or to be used as a guide to create their own.

I have been showing my daughter how to code and create games on ‘Scratch’ while we have been at home. Scratch is a free programming website where you can play and create interactive stories, animations and games.
There are lots of tutorials on the website with step by step instructions of how to make a range of games and animations. I have also attached a ‘Scratch skills sheet’ showing the basic controls. I am sure the children will have lots of fun having a go at coding their own games.

Enjoy this week and please continue to keep me updated 🙂
