Today we took part in a hate crime workshop with a member of Victim Support. They are a charity, who work with the police, and are dedicated to supporting victims of crime and traumatic incidents. We learnt about a project called “I am ME!” This was a project which aimed to encourage everyone to be who they are and understand that everyone is different but we are all human. During the workshop we got the opportunity to work as a team to complete a drawing task, discuss protected characteristics and which five of these are most associated with hate crime, and ask any questions we had. The sessions were engaging and collaboratively, we really enjoyed them and learnt a lot!
