What a wonderful day for our careers event!
Our mission was to hold a careers event at school, and we achieved this today!
Research shows that starting career-related learning early is important. We wanted to ensure that our children do not adopt employment stereotypes based on gender, ethnicity and social background allowing them to believe that any career choice they make is open them.
Children at St Mary’s in Shawbury had 20 stalls to visit to gain an understanding of career options available to them and how the skills and knowledge they gain in school will be relevant throughout their working life.
A huge thank you to all the companies that took the time to talk to the children and answer their questions.
