Wednesday 10th February 2021 – Home Learning

Happy Wednesday 🙂

Hope you are all okay and keeping safe!

Here are the activities for today…

Phonics – /OW/

Today the digraph is /ow/ ‘brown cow’ – we have looked at the /ow/ diagraph before but it sounded different, it was ‘blow the snow’, do you remember?

Literacy – The Tiddler

Well done for your wonderful story plans yesterday, they really were great! I cannot wait to see the finished stories!

Today I would like you to write the start and the middle of your story.

(If you did the whole storyboard it will be box 1,2 and 3).

You need to use your plan to start to write your version of the story. Have a good opening sentence, for example: One day, in the deep dark ocean there was a cheeky clownfish called Sid…

Adding those WOW words will really make your readers want to read on!

Use the notes of your plan as a guide but remember you have to extend those sentences and make them more exciting. Try to ‘use’ ,’and’, ‘or’, but and ‘because’ to extend your writing and make it interesting.

If you need some more ideas, re-read the story or have another listen to the video.

Science – Materials (Why do we change materials?)

This is the last science lesson of the materials topic! You have all worked so hard.

In this lesson, you will be learning about why you need to change materials. You will learn how raw materials can be changed to make synthetic materials and you will think about how the properties of these materials are different before and after the change. You will need a piece of paper and a pencil to join in! Happy learning 🙂 .

Enjoy your day!!

Best wishes and big smiles 🙂
