Today, our Year 6 pupils demonstrated exceptional initiative, teamwork, and community spirit by organising a special meal for older members of our local community.
The children took full ownership of the event — from planning the menu to preparing the dishes —all using fresh, locally sourced ingredients from across Shropshire. In the lead-up to the event, they wrote heartfelt letters to local businesses requesting donations, and the response was overwhelmingly generous.
The event was a resounding success. Our guests enjoyed a delicious meal and shared stories and laughter with the children. Many visitors commented on how polite, thoughtful, and mature the pupils were, describing them as “a credit to the school.”
We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 pupils for their hard work, kindness, and dedication. Their efforts not only brought joy to our guests but also strengthened the bond between our school and the wider community.
Well done, Year 6!
